The site hasn‘t seen an update for a while. One of the reasons is that I am not totally happy with iWeb. It‘s nice and easy but updating a site apart from .Mac is a mess. Seems I have to go on searching for a solution for an easy to use and good looking site.
Well, on to everything that‘s new. First, the SSL Compressor Clone is finally finished and working. You can see some photos and information in the hugo>>tronics section.
Then I got the update to Logic Studio which is really huge. Full installation takes 40 Gigs and now my hard disk is full. Leopard has also arrived and is running on my MacBook. The iMac will have to see a new hard disk before I let the Leopard loose on it.
And now for the most exciting story: I found an old heavy Siemens powermixer like thing on the junk at the university. A test certificate I found inside was dated to 1969. Seems like it was used for a small lecture hall. Well, besides some nice components I found two Siemens V276 microphone preamplifiers which are still well recognized as one of the best preamps of all. I already tested them and they still work. Well, they might need some restoration before I put them in a box together with some electronics for phantom power and so on.
